Winley – Nichols Family

 Under Construction

The Winley family are descended from First Fleeter John Nicols (1784 trial) and Ann Pugh via their daughter Martha Winley nee Nichols, who married William Win(d)ley.

Martha and William’s son,  William Win(d)ley in 1850 married Sarah Ann Knight born at Sheabour Gloucestershire, November 2, 1832. Sarah was an older half-sister to the Knight brothers of Sherbrooke, so it is not surprising that her third child, George Winley, spent some years at Sherbrooke, where he was a bullocky for the Knight’s Saw Mill.

Descendants of George’s son Aubrey George Franklin Winley have visited the Black Diamond Heritage Centre during the 2014 National Trust Heritage Festival Sherbrooke exhibition.
