Sherbrooke’s old schoolhouse, which became part of the Ranger Cottage in the early 20th Century after the resumptions for the second Cataract Dam, was  destroyed in the terrible bushfires of 1968 . Fires seemed to be a major hazard for the area, especially with dried out blackberry bushes. The Union Church at Sherbrooke was also destroyed around the 1890’s.
